Senior Specialist, Business Analytics

We are looking for a Senior Specialist, Business Analytics to join our Analytics and Operations Development team. In this role, you will support analytics and reporting for Fazer Confectionery’s operational functions and contribute hands-on to the design and development of data-driven solutions. You will act as a key business-side contributor with a strong focus on raw data handling of various data sources and Power BI development, while collaborating closely with business and technical stakeholders to translate business requirements into effective technical specifications, governed data models, and scalable analytics solutions. You will also serve as a subject-matter expert in reporting systems, supporting user enablement through training and helping drive the adoption of analytics solutions to improve operational efficiency across functions.

Responsibilities:

• Designs, develops, and maintains the BI engineering framework for reporting and analytics, with a strong focus on the Power BI stack, ensuring scalability, performance, and reusability across enterprise use cases.
• Engineers robust data models, semantic models, and transformation layers (from raw source data to curated datasets), enabling reliable, performant, and business-ready analytics.
• Implements and maintains standardized BI development practices, including data modeling conventions, metric definitions, versioning, and documentation, ensuring consistency and governance across reporting solutions at Fazer Confectionery.
• Leads BI development initiatives from a technical delivery perspective, managing development backlogs, defining technical scope, coordinating releases, and tracking progress in collaboration with business and IT stakeholders.
• Partners closely with business, data platform, and governance teams to ensure BI solutions align with business requirements, data architecture principles, and group-wide data and analytics standards. 
• Trains and supports end users in the effective use of analytics and reporting solutions, while developing structured training materials and enablement practices. 
• Acts as an active facilitator in the rollout of new reporting solutions, driving adoption, skills development, and analytics capability building across the organization.

In this position you will report to Senior Manager, Solutions and Analytics. The position is permanent and located in Vantaa or Lappeenranta, where we mainly work onsite.

The role in question is a salaried position under the collective agreement for salaried employees in the food industry. The base salary of this position is between 4100 € - 4700 € / month depending on the knowledge and professional experience of the selected candidate. This role is eligible for annual bonus plan (as confirmed each year separately by Fazer) with a target level earning potential of 10 % of annual salary.  In addition, we offer a range of benefits including for example discounts to Fazer products and well-being benefits such as ePassi.

• Few years of manufacturing industry experience
• Few years of data modelling and BI reporting development experience (preferable PBI)
• Solid SQL, Python and DAX/M script skills 
• Proficient with MS office tools
• You have Bachelor or Master’s degree in Data Science or analytics, Computer Science or Industrial Engineering
• Strong Finnish and English language skills

Experience and skills that are considered beneficial:

• Microsoft certifications relevant to Power BI, Fabric and data analytics
• Experience with external tools, such as DAX studio, Tabular editor, ALM toolkit
• SAP, Snowflake and/or Real time data analytic experience
• Machine learning experience
